Henskens Rankin creates exquisite Tasmanian sparkling wines with innovative, labor intensive but hands-off approach. Crafted sustainably in small batches, their wines embody elegance, luxury, and a true sense of place - perfect for elevating any occasion!

Their Vintage Brut is blended from small parcels of fruit from vineyards, tended by sustainability-minded growers, across the island. These wines express the complex identity of each declared vintage. A snapshot of Tasmania lutruwita, if you will.

Made to retain their freshness, these wines spend a minimum of six years on yeast lees with further aging under cork. Each release is limited to 2500 individually numbered bottles (plus magnums).

Traditional method: 70% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Noir

Multi-regional blend: Huon Valley, Tasman Peninsula.

Seven years on yeast lees, 3 g/L dosage, 12.4 % alcohol, TA 8.55 g/L.

1830 bottles produced. Gold Medal 2024 Tasmanian Wine Show. 96 Points, Stuart Knox, The Real Review.

Henskens Rankin of Tasmania, Vintage Brut 2015 – Rated 97/100 by Decanter

"The nose is magnetic, unfurling layers of golden apple, exotic spice, and subtle Vegemite umami, all framed by fragrant spring blossom, honeysuckle, and tuberose. The palate delivers tension in spades. Ripe apple notes run parallel with a structured fine, chalky texture, energetic acidity, and perfectly integrated autolytic characters. Think charred raisins, caramelised toffee apple, Christmas spice, and marzipan, all supported by firm phenolics and pithy acidity. The finish is exceptionally long, with notes of burnt parmesan and red apple skin.

A mellifluous wine which is a sum of its parts. A multi-regional, Chardonnay dominant blend with fruit from Huon Valley and the Tasman Peninsula. 2015 was a warmer vintage, and a riper fruit spectrum coupled with seven years on lees has helped to craft a complex and expansive sparkling wine. Seamless. Keep well chilled for maximum drinking pleasure."
