Since 2016 Bruny Island Beer Co. has been making beers that tell a distinctly Tasmanian story. Our beers are made by hand on Bruny Island and are open fermented, unfiltered, unpasteurised and bottle conditioned…. until now.
We’ve already taken Farm Ale to the city and make a batch in a fancy urban brewery. Now we've expanded our 375ml cans range with our beloved dark ale.
Bruny Black is an easy drinking companion for winter weather, warm fires and hearty meals. Pouring a reddish-tinged black, this beer offers ample malt-driven flavours of freshly roasted coffee, toffee, and toast intertwined with citrus, spice, and plum notes from Tasmanian-grown Cascade and Ella hops. A robust bitterness emerges late, lingering along with a drying note of roasted barley, making for a complex, yet superbly quaffable drink.

GRAIN: Pale malted barley, Munich malt, crystal malts, roasted barley & Carafa II (malted, dehusked & roasted barley).
YEAST: US-05.

HOPS: Ella & Cascade.
